Email from Capitol Tour Volunteers:

Good afternoon,

Thank you for scheduling a tour of the Idaho State Capitol.  Your tours are on Friday, March 23 at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM for approximately 60 guests in each group.  Please keep in mind that parking is very limited around the Capitol Building, and is metered parking only.  Buses may drop guests off in front of the Capitol, but cannot remain there.

The Capitol Building is a working Capitol, which means there are people in the building every day doing their work for the state of Idaho.  Please be respectful of their need to get their work done by keeping noise to a minimum.

The Capitol Tour Program is staffed 100% by volunteers, so please make sure you are on time for your tour.

You will meet your tour guide(s) on the Garden Level of the Capitol.  This is the lowest level of the building.  On Jefferson Street there are ADA sidewalks leading you to the Garden Level entrances where, once inside, you will find the Welcome Desk on your left.

If you plan to have lunch after the tour, the park across the street is available for use without reservations.

If you would like to meet your senator or representative before or after your scheduled tour, please contact them directly.  The tour program does not set appointments for the legislators.  The Capitol Gift Shop is open from 9:30 am to 4:30pm, Monday through Saturday.  The Gift Shop has many souvenir items for kids as well as items for the adults.

We have several age/grade specific games developed for the Capitol and the tour program, including a scavenger hunt.

Best Regards,
